3rd ERC Workshop on ‘State Silence and International Agreements’

The third workshop of the ERC project on State Silence, entitled ‘State Silence and International Agreements’, was held on 27 May 2027 at University College London (Haldane Room, Wilkins Building).

The workshop focused on three chapters of the Principal Investigator’s forthcoming monograph: (1) inferring the intention to create a legally binding agreement from subsequent conduct; (2) State silence and subsequent interpretative agreements, with particular attention to decisions of Conferences of Parties (COPs); and (3) State silence and reservations to treaties.

Academics and government legal advisers from around the world participated both in person and online.
